Proton will re-interview staff about AI — and jobs may depend on it

“ProtonMail is making staff re-interview for their own jobs — and the question is whether they use AI enough.”

The Story

The encrypted-mail company told staff it will “re-interview” workers about how they use AI. A leaked internal email calls the sessions “consequential” and says they “may lead to changes in roles, responsibilities, and continued employment.” Interviews run Nov. 4–11 with leaders chosen for “strong AI capability,” after CEO Andy Yen already interviewed 40+ senior people.

Why It Matters

The privacy company is turning AI fluency into a loyalty test. Not “AI takes jobs” — your employer interviews you again, as if you applied to be a cyborg.
