TypeSafe’s Jev — an AI that only answers yes/no, picks, or scores — raises $870M at $7.5B weeks after launch

“The $7.5 billion AI that refuses to write a paragraph.”

The Story

TypeSafe, maker of Jev (a “System One” decision model that returns typed yes/no, list choice, or a calibrated score instead of generated text), closed an $870M round at $7.5B led by Andreessen Horowitz with Sequoia, weeks after launch. The company claims sub-700ms responses, ~100× cheaper than frontier LLMs for those tasks, and adoption by a large slice of the Fortune 500. It is not a chatbot.

Why It Matters

The next valuable model may not talk at all — it just decides, cheap and fast, inside other software. That’s a shift in model economics and in what “AI” looks like on a screen.
