Kids are using “that’s AI / that’s so AI” for anything fake, cheap, or unbelievable — knockoff toys, parental excuses, not just generated images. The Guardian’s today piece treats it as the year’s defining insult: AI has semantically broadened into “bullshit.” Always an insult, never a compliment.
