China’s dancing humanoids are being written into urban assault plans

The Story
Two days after Beijing’s World Humanoid Robot Games, the PLA Daily told researchers to move lab tech onto training grounds for robotic “combatants.” Reuters found military papers modeling six combat robots clearing a building floor by floor, tenders for humanoids and perception systems, and Norinco’s Fuxi robot pitched for sentry and recon. Reuters found no evidence China has fielded an armed humanoid with an operational unit; the machines are still unreliable off-demo. China shipped ~95% of global humanoids in 2025.
